Quick Tip: Frozen Bananas

I like my bananas on the green side.  When they start developing brown dots, they’re dead to me.  I hate to waste food, though.  What’s a thrifty vegan to do?

Easy!  The answer is CRYOGENICS!

Just peel that bad boy, put it in a Ziploc bag, and throw it in your freezer.

Tip: peeling a frozen banana SUCKS.  That’s why I always peel before I freeze.

Now, what to do with this frozen banana?

Answer: LOTS!

Now you can make really good smoothies that are thick and cold yet not diluted with frozen water (aka ice).

Frozen Banana > Frozen Water.

Also, bananas are a great substitute for eggs in vegan baking!

About 1/2 mashed banana = 1 egg

With no cholesterol, very little fat, lots of fiber, vitamins and minerals…

Banana > Egg
